How to Choose the Food Containers

Considering some new food storage? Wondering about round or rectangular? Here’s everything you need to choose the best containers for your needs.

Food storage containers are something that most of us use almost every day. Whether it’s filling the fridge with leftovers from last night’s dinner or taking a homemade salad to work, having the right container makes life easier – something I can always get behind. To avoid having a fridge full of inappropriate containers for deli meats or reheating leftovers in plastic that may not be food safe, here are a few storage tips that will make your kitchen more organized, useful and efficient

1 :- Shape and Size Matters

While this may be more of a personal preference than anything else, it’s worth considering the shape of your food containers. I love round containers because, well, most of our containers are round, so it stack easily. A lot of people who like rectangular containers because they’re much easier to wedge into open spaces than round ones. You can play a puzzle and maximize the space in your fridge and freezer.

2 :- Best Containers for Storing Dry Goods

For dry storage of snacks and cereals, grains like rice and polenta, or other staples, I really like the transparent containers. Aside from the fact that they’re see-through so you can see exactly what you’re storing and they look pretty, they’re also airtight to keep dried goods stay fresh. They stack well and come in different sizes too!

3 :- Reheating Potential

The cool thing about microwavable containers is that I can refrigerate or freeze leftovers and reheat them straight from the fridge or freezer. When I bring plastic to work, I just do a quick transfer to an actual bowl or plate in the office kitchen. Either approach works great!
